Ajaypal Banga offered 90 crores

Ajaypal Banga, who quit Citigroup to join credit card company MasterCard, has been offered a package of Rs 90 crore by the payment services firm.

Banga was Asia-Pacific CEO of Citigroup.

The package is billed to be the biggest in the current financial crisis world over.

Banga will join MasterCard as its new President and Chief Operating Officer on August 31 and is likely to become CEO within a year's time.

Of the 90 crore, Banga will get Rs 10 crore as salary and Rs 80 crore as bonuses.
